Is the GMAT the same price online as in-person?

The direct answer is yes! However, taking the exam online can save you a bit of cash when you are sending out score reports. The online GMAT exam allows you to send your score to an unlimited number of business schools for free; whereas, in-person you are charged $35 for a score report.

GMAT Cancellation Fee

Applicants are able to schedule their GMAT appointment up to 6 months in advance; however, if you need to cancel your exam for any given reason, you might be eligible for a refund.

Time Cost
1-14 days prior to exam day $150
15-60 days prior to exam day $100
more than 60 days prior to exam day $50

GMAT Rescheduling Fee

15-60 days prior to exam day $175 ($75 refund)
more than 60 days prior to exam day $150 (100 refund)

Additional Costs

In addition to the GMAT cost, in-person testing can add a few more costs:

1. Enhanced Score Report  – $30

A score analysis indicating how much time you spent on questions, question difficulty, areas to improve, etc.

2. Additional Score Reports – $35 each

Physical copy of your score report if you are planning to mail them to universities or need one for personal use.

3. Cancel Score- $25

A fee to cancel your test results. If you select a list of business schools to receive your scores, this will void the results from being sent out.

4. Reinstate Score- $50

Reinstate fee to authorize mailing out previous cancelled GMAT scores to your list of business schools.

5. AWA Essay Regrade- $45

While it is true that the AWA score does not factor into your total GMAT score, some applicants may want another essay grader to revisit their Analytical Writing assignment for a possible rescore.
